Community/Political Leadership Experiences and Artifacts
Artifact 1 - Work Experience Schedule
As a community/political leader, I must address conditions affecting learning by collaborating and developing relationships with community agencies to integrate health, social, and other services for families. I created this field trip schedule for a summer work experience program that I helped start up for identified students that are in vocational rehab. I believe it is imperative to provide alternative opportunities for non-college bound students.
Artifact 2 - PLC Meeting Notes
As a community/political leader, I must form collaborative relationships and build support with district personnel. I took the above notes from a PLC meeting I led. There were informative discussions regarding the upcoming science standards, ACT/NeSA testing, and a review of our K-12 science alignment from last year. Professional learning communities are a great way to promote professional collaboration between teachers and support school improvement.
Artifact 3 - Summer School Letter Home to Parents
As a community/political leader, I must be able to demonstrate sensitivity, respect, and empathy for multiple perspectives. I created this parent letter with Mr. Michael to notify parents their child has been recommended for summer school. At DC West, summer school is used solely for credit recovery of a single semester. Working with the administration and the team of teachers on organizing summer school has been very beneficial for me in my educational leadership journey.
